Functional Strength is the foundation of lifelong fitness. It's our ability to perform everyday movements pain-free, with comfort and ease. Functional strength training is literally training the body for movements we do in everyday life. Just for example, here's a few movement patterns we do in creative ways throughout the course, and how we use them in our every day life:

* Hinge (bending over to pick something up)
* Lunge (going up stairs or walking up a hill)
* Push (putting something away overhead)
* Pull (raking, vacuuming, closing a car door, grabbing heavy things)

* Balance (standing on one leg)

Functional Strength is the foundation of fitness. How unmotivating is it to do a workout when all of your movements feel like a STRUGGLE? Do a plank for 30 seconds?
